Volunteer Opportunities

Share your unique gift, talent, and passion with the patients and staff of Lutheran Hospice. Volunteers help patients to live life to its fullest during their final days. The rewards of volunteering are immeasurable. Touching even one life makes a difference.
Fact: In an article called Support and Survival Times by Herbst-Damn and Kulik I 2005, their research showed that hospice patients that receive volunteer support live, on average, 80 days longer than those who do not. Also, patients that were visited by student volunteers on a regular schedule seemed happier and healthier. The study also suggests that home visits made by volunteers may benefit the emotional well-being of terminally ill patients. This article is scientific proof that what you do matters...not that there was ever any doubt. Every day is a gift…80 extra days...what better gift can you give?
Lend a hand – volunteer.
