Make A Gift

Your gift to Lutheran Hospice may be designated for one of the following funds:

Subsidized Care
Your gift designated for subsidized care enables Lutheran Hospice to serve patients with limited resources whose care is not covered by insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. It can also help us meet the basic needs of some of our low-income patients and family members---needs like food, rent, utility payments, transportation and funeral expenses.

Gifts of Grace
At Lutheran Hospice, we are committed to making every moment as comfortable and memorable as possible for our patients and family members. One way we do that is by providing Gifts of Grace that help our patients' end-of-life wishes come true. The wishes we fulfill are often simple...

  • one more visit with a cherished family member or friend
  • much needed rest and renewal for a caregiver
  • a final visit to a place long held dear
  • a special anniversary celebration
  • a moment of joy to fulfill the heart's desire

Join us in making wishes come true by making a contribution designated for Gifts of Grace.

Endowment of Hope
The Endowment of Hope was established in 2004 to enable Lutheran Hospice to provide compassionate end-of-life care for people of all economic levels. Earnings from this endowment are used to cover the cost of patient care for those who need financial assistance and help patients and their families with special needs.

Cash Gifts
Gifts to support the ministry of Lutheran Hospice are administered by the Lutheran Homes of South Carolina Foundation, Inc. and used for the purpose designated by the donor.  Checks should be made payable to Lutheran Hospice.  Click here for a printable gift form.  Donors who contribute $250 or more in a calendar year are recognized as members of the Innkeeper Society.

Credit Card Gifts
The Lutheran Homes of South Carolina Foundation, Inc. has arranged for secure credit card donations to be made to Lutheran Hospice through the Network for Good.  Be sure to note in the designation option that your gift is for Lutheran Hospice and how you would like it to be used.  The Network for Good will be referenced on your credit card statement.

Gifts of Stock and Other Assets
Stock, real property and other assets may also be gifted.  Gifts of assets that have increased in value since the donor has owned them can result in extra tax savings.  For more information contact Ernest Beck, Director of Planned Giving, at ebeck@lhomes.org or Pastor Bob Coon, President of the Foundation, at rcoon@lhomes.org or call 1-800-756-9443.

Planned Gifts
A planned gift is a contribution established during a donor's lifetime, but may not be received until the donor's death. This type of gift, which may be made through a will, bequest, life insurance policy, trust or annuity, enables the donor to leave a legacy of care for the patients and families served by Lutheran Hospice.  Click here to learn more about making a planned gift. Donors who establish a planned gift to benefit this ministry are recognized as members of the Innkeeper Legacy Society.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Matching Gift Program
Members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans can increase the impact their gifts have on the lives of those served by Lutheran Hospice through the GivingPlus Program.  Thrivent contributes $1 for every $2 that a member donates.  Minimum and maximum limits apply.  Click here for a GivingPlus form and instructions.

Matching Gifts
Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that enable their employees’ gifts to accomplish even more.  Please ask your employer about matching gift opportunities.
